An excellent course. If you haven't made a house track before, follow along and you'll be making jams in no time.

Maybe little info for already pros and house music heads, but this was quite helpful to me not knowing well about house music in general.

For someone not so familiar with house music, this is a fantastic course on how to build a slamming track in a short time. Along the way, the instructor gives great tips on instrument placement, side-chaining, and song construction all the while he is building his track from scratch.

It's always a pleasure watching Olav work. He is a master of house music and an expert in mixing, audio, production, and DAWs (Logic in this video.) In this course, he walks one through the construction of a house track. He makes it seem simple, and on one hand it is. Kick, hats, claps, snares, percussion, bass, organ, pianos.
There's a lot for the beginner to get out of this as it shows what elements go into a track, how a pro uses Logic, and how everything works together. This tutorial also provides an extremely valuable lesson in showing one does not need expensive third party plugins to get a great sounding track. With a couple of exceptions everything is done with stock logic tools.
On the other hand, getting a track to sound good and cohesive isn't so simple, even if Olav makes it seem that way. This is where the course may be of benefit to the medium-to-advanced producer. How does Olav manage to get everything sounding so good? It's not a lot of plugins - mostly standard ones. EQ, Overdrive, Compression, Tape Echo, and Space Designer - but he knows exactly how to use them - and it's very valuable to see how he does this. EQ cuts/boosts here and there. Compression, sometime sidechained. Overdrive (Logic's underrated plugin). These small things about how he decides to apply and when mean a lot. Even pro's like watching other pro's work as there is always something to be picked-up, either workflow or technique or something else.
A great course. Straightforward, explained clearly, moves at a good pace, very useful. Instructional and inspirational. Olav is an incredible teacher and hopefully he continues to make videos sharing more of his knowledge.
